I don't like unwinnable situations, like in level 3 with the moving ? mark block.

Gameitnow responds:

You need some practice, it's not unwinnable, try and beat this level.

...

You already uploaded this. It was apparently blammed. You made no changes.

Interesting concept

Most of the difficulty of course comes from pressing the on-screen buttons. You got to know when to stop, walk, jump and duck. For instance, in level 8, if you jump after the first two bombs while ducking, you'll die. Stopping instantly cancels your momentum so you can then duck-walk into a jump to clear the last bomb. Interesting. ...<.<;

Simplistic graphics work but it can sometimes get a bit annoying about the controls. Your question-marks and More all lead to the same place (advertisement) and the Help button is humourously grayed out (although that's probably a bad idea).

dudejonne responds:

Thanks, yeah it is a little bit hard because sometimes you have to look at the buttons to know where to click. While you do that you cannot exactly see when to stop.

OCTOPUS!!!!!

I can't actually jump over a single car, but YOU USED SMIDLY'S OCTOPUS COVER YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY! I've always waited for someone to actually use it! It's one of my favourite songs EVER and Smidly's version of it is AWESOME! Y'know, Octopus! From Game and Watch Gallery 4! That's wot Lawlz43 is! And you're awesome for havin' that music!

I know you said...

...To not talk and tell you wot happened if there are problems, but it seems it has glitched and the game keeps goin' even after I've lost my 10 hatchlings, no matter how many enemy cavemen go past me. I'm just lettin' the game play itself while I'm typin' this review.
I'm guessin' you made the cavemen very small (although you can easily tell who is an ally and who is an enemy) on purpose for the attention to detail portion of the game. I'm also guessin' that is why the instructions is off to the side.
Of course, the dinosaur moves so slowly and the hitboxes for the squishiness seems too small so it is hard to even defend the eggs.
Unless the game is glitched like it is right now. Currently I have 11k as my score. I can't actually lose so I can't submit the score. :(

chesster415 responds:

Huh, thanks I got your PM with the picture first, and managed to get the glitch myself before I found your review. I was being a little sarcasitic about not describing glitches. I've gotten a reviews like one that said verbatum "it was slow he couldn't understand anything I typed". I expected glitches in the scoreboard but nobody has mentioned any, that seems to be the best liked part of the game. I also found one where if you click play before the ad loads it only shows the top left of the game. I'll try to fix those glitches, so far I've only seen them on Newgrounds and I haven't been back online since I put the game up. I've updated the game today, but if it's not fixed, you might try playing in pop-up mode, as a work around until I figure out what the problem is.

Eh. Nothin' very interesting.

Of course, to fix the BGM problem, I had my own Pokémon music in the background. Notably Diamond/Pearl's Game Corner theme.

But the gameplay, as with all uninspired matching games, was kinda dry.

My score was...1970 and my time was 1:46.

JordanKinsley responds:

The music was a test, I did not keep it in there very long. I might add it back in. However it lagged the game and I did not like that. Plus It is very hard adding a preloader to the game with my current coding and I would not like adding a longer white screen.

Touhou-like. Just isn't done, though.

Well, this isn't actually bad.
If it had a way of subtracting lives/health other than the number at the top left. (My high score is -56, by the way). I wouldn't consider it a point system since it can only go down, though.
Music would be nice and...less clunky controls. The ship moves very slowly and sometimes fails at moving diagonally.
The invisible wall at the top area could be better defined, too.

AlexanderZero responds:

I guess I should have clarified, there's not score yet. That number goes down when the player is touching hazardous objects like bullets or enemy ships. Can you tell me which directions diagonally that the ship would stall on?

Not bad.

The run up to enemy, press A repeatedly and move on to the next and use the special when surrounded does get a bit old, but I was surprised that there were four different "worlds". That makes the game a little bit deeper.
Unfortunately, it doesn't auto-save.
Also of note is that you can't access the options by using the pause menu. :(
There are scores but no way of saving them.

Cosmoseth responds:

I couldn't really find a need to save the game, other that to replay levels. So i decided it wouldn't be worth the extra work / file size

....Blah.

The colour scheme/point scheme makes no sense so you don't remember it.
You don't need to remember it though, just collect the balls.
Because there is no way to lose apparently, there is no point in different point values of the balls because there is no visible time limit.
...So there is no point in "beating your score" if you can't lose.
Also, there are no boundaries on the sides of the screens.
...Okay. After playing some more...
The purple balls all fall from the same column...as do all of the other colours.
So...
Just leave your basket under the yellow column.
....That defeats the purpose of the game, then.

Lordsalem responds:

Yeah, i made this game to really test what i knew in actionscript and uploaded it for feedback, but ok thanks for the review. Cant wait till you actually bring out a game.

...Reminds me of Big Rigs. <_<

You go through the freaking cars and trees dammit. <_<

frogger2k8 responds:

lol, tell me about it, its been a nightmare trying to get it to have a hit test that actually works, but i WILL get there, this is basically a... taste of whats to come.
